K. Jai Hutchins
I am a senior at Ashland High School in Ohio. I'm planning to attend The School of the Art Institute of Chicago this fall. I've taken a myriad of different art classes, including but not limited to, Media Arts, Printmaking, and Drawing Fundamentals. I enjoy a mix of traditional art and digital skills, and honestly I don't have much of a preference when it comes to media. I enjoy mixing media, and overall just apply my skills to whatever a project needs. When it comes to digital skills, I have experience in most Adobe Programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects.
I spend most of my day in the art studios, including my study halls. I always maintain deadlines, and have completed projects in short time periods when necessary. I enjoy working with others and by myself, I really don’t mind and will work with whatever requirements I have. I work well under pressure and have completed many projects within a short deadline. Overall, I feel I am a well rounded artist.

I’ve had art picked for the Ashland City Schools calendar two years in a row
In my internship focus in visual communications, I have designed many graphics for Ashland high school, including branding for the Fall Play, May Fiesta choir performance, Ashland City Schools Calendar Showcase, Ashland City Schools Art Show, and Ashland City Schools Graduation Commencement
A water color piece of mine was chosen by the Ashland County Community Foundation in partnership with the Ashland County Women's Foundation to be printed and sold as a fund raising opportunity for the Women's Fund
I graduated Ashland High School with an Art Honors Diploma
I graduated as a member in good standing with the Ashland chapter of National Art Honors Society and served on the executive committee for two years
I have received two Honorable Mention awards from Scholastic Art and Writing
I’ve won many regional awards, a state award, and a cameo award from the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition, through the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education
I had a piece displayed in Journey Through Ohio's Counties, presented by Tina Husted, wife of Jon Husted, one of Ohio's U.S. Senators
